Looks like Long Beach didn't receive any of $17.8 million in distributed funds from donations to the "12-12-12" Concert for Sandy Relief.

Only a non-profit organization assisting victims of Sandy can request funding from Robin Hood, Robin Hood only funds 501(c)(3) organizations; it does not provide grants directly to individuals.

LB hasn't received funding yet. There's still a minimum of 2-3 rounds to distribute. First round was focused on different locations. next few are focused on LI. One of the application deadlines is today, actually. Next one is the 15th.

Funny, I called Robinhood Relief. I explained I was from Long Beach and so on. They told me to pick one of the non for profit organizations that they fund and apply for a grant. I asked which organization, there does to seem to be one for the ordinary person who needs a little help with their home. I asked the representative to assist me in finding the right fund, she did. Just as I thought, she told me there is not a fund for a person who needs help with their home but advised me to check back from time to time maybe we will add more organizations that can help you. I ask where did this money go. Is this why the people of Port au Prince are still livening in tents? Was that concert to benefit those people. These concerts only pad the wallets of not for profit orgaizations

It looks as if the "not for profit" profits again. I'm sure their executives took home nice bonuses this year! No one who was a victim of Hurricane Sandy will ever see a penny of this money! It is a shame that corruption happens in the name of charity.

Call & register a complaint w/Nassau consumer affairs & NYS attorney general office about NO LB money. The more people who pressure them the better.
