LB isn't NYC, Atlantic Beach, Point Lookout, etc... Our sanitation workers, city officials, almost everyone who works for the city of Long Beach lives here so give them a break. How many Town of Hempstead workers live in Point Lookout, Lido?

I agree, these guys have been working around the clock since the morning the storm hit, can they get a little credit instead of petty complaints of rotting food at your curb? If people have yet to hear they have removed over 60,000 yards of waste in the last 2 weeks thats more than what they take out in a year. Everyone is doing the best they can to clean up the city, support is what these workers need!

While I'd like to cut people a break, its been almost three weeks since the storm and taxpayers have a right to basic services. It's not as if sanitation workers are unpaid volunteers. What's even worse is the blatant misrepresentations by our city manager. If the city can't get it done, they have asked for help last week.

Josh those paid sanitation workers lost their homes too have a little compassion!

Of course the problem isn't the workers themselves - they can fill up a truck from just 2-3 houses, they aren't going to get very far. Long Beach officials have to realize they need help picking up all the trash. They don't have the resources to handle it. ToH has been sending whatever trucks they have (dump trucks, flatbeds) to clean up Lido. Long Beach needs help from the county/state...

But the county/state isn't going to do anything until LB asks for it.
