Dead Trees

Does anyone know if the city will remove dead trees from the front of our homes?  After the hurricane, the tree in front of my house is dead.  I'm guessing I'm responsible for removing it but I wondered if there was any grant money or something like that to have it removed before its causes damage to someones car or my home.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
