Rescue Ink was given the privilege to manage the Long Beach NY Animal Shelter for 2012-2013. This is how they ultimately chose to care for it. Maggots were served as a part of a cat's meal. They maintained this condition in spite of daily pleas on FB for "donations for the animals" and "money to run the shelter."

In addition to the neglect that the building received, a dog and two kittens died during Hurricane Sandy because Rescue Ink arrogantly chose not to heed the mandatory evacuation that had been declared for the area. They kept the deaths secret and lied about them for two months claiming that everyone was safe.

The last tax record on file for Rescue Ink is from 2011. Rescue Ink has claimed countless times that "100% of donations go to the animals." Their last tax records show that only 6% actually went to the animals, 94% short of what they claim. Rescue Ink blatantly lied about their intention to spend donations on rescue.

When challenged on this issue, RI often provided the excuse that they "needed to travel for rescue," but to date have refused to provide any documentation on location, rescues or shelters partnered with, dates, travel itineraries, or animals saved.

Rescue Ink has harassed and bullied several prior volunteers and employees, (all female), in retaliation for speaking out about the truths they had learned and experienced. One former volunteer was accused of killing a puppy and Joe Panz created a mob mentality with the baseless implication. The volunteer received death threats and Rescue Ink refused to take down the social media posts once documentation was published that absolved the volunteer of any wrongdoing.

Rescue Ink lied to the public by claiming that donations were needed "to run the shelter." They even claimed donations were needed "to pay rent." This was untrue as the City of Long Beach did not charge them rent, and even had a contract to PAY Rescue Ink to run the shelter. Yet, they continued to illegally beg for donations for a facility that was not theirs to pay for.

Rescue Ink had a $2,000 a month bill to pay in order to have permission to use the "Rescue Ink" name which they did not own. Rescue Ink claimed merchandise purchases were "100% to help the animals," yet this documentation shows that merchandise sales were meant to pay off this $200,000 debt instead.

Rescue Ink failed to keep the monthly payment arrangements in the above settlement. Once they went into default, their license to use the name was no longer in effect. However, Joe Panz and Anthony Rossano continued to illegally use the name in order to solicit illegal donations for a defunct "organization."
