Feels like a scarey movie...

I drove into Long Beach yesterday for only the third time since Sandy. I left what I considered home to only return to what I now consider a scarey Tim Burton movie.
As I drove west on Park Ave all I saw were dead, leafless, lifeless trees. 100's of trees that once bloomed beautifully making for a shady drive through Long Beach now stand naked and bare with an eeeeary look and feel. What wasn't knocked over by the winds are now dead...killed by the salt and sewage water.
I understand that there is a long prioritized checklist of things to do and to take care of but I wonder if removing and replacing these beautiful trees is on that list?
