Lafayette Boardwalk Ramp

Has anyone examined the ridiculous configuration of the only boardwalk ramp being installed at Lafayette Blvd?  Are they kidding?  The previous ramp was shorter in length yet wider than most of the older ramps due to the fact that the old beach maintenance building was located adjacent to the west ramp and city vehicles would use this ramp as an access point to the boardwalk.  It was your typical straight, up/down ramp and handled the pedestrian boardwalk and beach traffic beautifully.  Now, look at the narrow horror ramp they have installed.  At least five parking spots have been removed because of this decision in a town screaming for parking.  The decision to remove the east ramp adjacent to the Lafayette Terrace will contribute to pedestrian congestion safety issues.  All foot traffic will have to enter at the twisting ramp and safety issues will certainly develop with pedestrian boulevard cross overs, strollers, bikes and car drop offs/pickups as all compete for access to the only ramp and the active driveway of the oceanfront condo units with the green roofs.  Insane.
