Long Beach VOLUNTEER Fire Department openly recruits criminals!

The following screen capture of the Facebook page from an officer of the LBVFD courts new members whether they have a criminal "record" or not.

I wish to make clear that this invite extends only to membership in the volunteer portion of the LBFD. The paid side of the LBFD has stringent background standards that would exclude persons with criminal backgrounds from obtaining employment within it. The volunteer side obviously has lower standards. Does anyone think this is right?
