Cops Searching for Missing Man Last Seen in East…

Lost Kitty brought to the Shelter today

Please help me find my home!
Please help me find my home!
This beautiful silver Tabbie was brought to the LB shelter today by a good samaritan.  The miraculous thing about it was that when this woman got out of her car after driving through LB she heard a meow coming from her car, when she open the hood she saw this young cat on her engine!  Amazing that she survived the drive and so happy to be safe and sound....She is so sweet and playful, must be someones cat, so if you lost your kitty please reply to me or come down to the shelter at 770 Park Pl

She was actually brought in on Sunday 12/1....no one has claimed her yet, she might have come from Riverside and Chester area. If you know of anyone who lost their cat please send them to the shelter. She definitely came from someone's house.

there is a sign up at associated/key food for a missing silver tabby. maybe that's him?
Kim December 06, 2013 at 12:48 PM
I know that there is a missing cat flyer in Dr Rattners office in Island Park with a cat that strongly resembles this one.
Nicole DiBona December 06, 2013 at 07:55 PM
Danielle and Kim...if it's possible can you please call the number on the flyer and let them know about this kitty and to go check the shelter? That would be so wonderful if this is that person's kitty. I will share this with all my LB FB friends.

I called dr rattners office and told them about the photo. They were going to call the people whose cat was missing.

Penquin December 07, 2013 at 11:54 AM
Jazzy, could you let us know the happy ending when she is reunited with her owner?
Jazzy44 December 07, 2013 at 12:58 PM
Yes, I am hoping someone claims her soon. She is too sweet to be left in a cage. I try to spend as much time with her as I could. If no ones claims her she will go up for adoption.

And why cant anyone call the shelter??
Jazzy44 December 08, 2013 at 09:19 AM
Unfortunately the phones are still down because RI left a 900 dollar bill and the city doesn't want to pay it. That's what I heard, it's terrible .... No phone, no Internet.
Eddie December 08, 2013 at 12:51 PM
As long as you can prove you are not the debtor, you can get a new telephone account. Someone with a clue should take care of that. Rescue Ink's bills aren't your or the City's problem.
Jazzy44 December 08, 2013 at 02:14 PM
Yes I agree with that, so I don't understand why it's taking this long for the city to get phone and Internet service.
Eddie December 08, 2013 at 03:24 PM
You elected inexperienced Democrats, that's why. Highly technical issues like getting telephones turned on are beyond them.
Penquin December 08, 2013 at 04:28 PM
Come on Eddie - This woman is trying to take care of the animals voluntarily - You don't know who she voted for.
Jazzy44 December 08, 2013 at 06:29 PM
I'm not a long beach resident and even if I did vote, politics isn't the topic here.
Eddie December 08, 2013 at 08:54 PM
Didn't realize you were the Topic Police here. Excuse me for interjecting anything practical. I understand that when it comes to the Animal Shelter it's all about emotions, no room for reason or economics. Would be nice to have a phone there though, wouldn't it? And you are a Democrat. Guess how I know.
Penquin December 12, 2013 at 07:42 PM
Jazzy - Just curious if you got any help with the phones/internet. Like you, I used to volunteer in an animal shelter and I am concerned about you getting the support you need. Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday,
Jazzy44 December 12, 2013 at 08:57 PM
Thanks for your concern, still no phones or Internet. It very frustrating and I really am losing my patience but I don't have the time right now to fight the city. My main concern is moving something cats and dogs out of the shelter. Right now with no means of communication in or out its nearly impossible to get adoptions. The shelter doesn't even have a FB page or a website.
Penquin December 12, 2013 at 09:02 PM
Jazzy - I will leave word with someone else who would be concerned as well. Will try to help in any way I can. You are a good person.
Jazzy44 December 12, 2013 at 09:24 PM
Thanks, I think the taxpayers should know what's going on...it's very disheartening to see the shelter being run this way, not fair to the animals. The city has money for everything else but the shelter.
Penquin December 12, 2013 at 09:41 PM
If you are working tomorrow, let me know what time you will be there. Maybe we can talk? I'd like to help.
Jazzy44 December 12, 2013 at 11:14 PM
That would be great, I will be there at 4.
