Red Light Camera

In times of already-unacceptable overreach of government, it is wrong to introduce red-light cameras in Long Beach.  The legality of this innovation is questionable under fifth and sixth amendment Due process consideration, questions a number of courts are reviewing at this time. Furthermore, street cameras is another erosion of our rights of privacy and gives the government yet another tool of intrusive surveillance of otherwise innocent citizens, scratching the penumbra of fourth amendment protections.  I urge the City of Long Beach not to implement red-light cameras.
