Community Corner

the school board fox in the resident henhouse -

We Need to Teach the Schools a Lesson by Voting No on Tax Increases. A 3.24% rise is planned while enrollment is shrinking. Talk of cuts is a smoke screen or token in nature. We Don’t Need to Pay a Premium for Mediocrity. Regents results show students as average and below average in English, Chemistry and Physics, but cost per student is far above average. How much bluff does 130 million dollar budget buy? We Need to Change the Self-Serving Culture of the School District, by Not Letting Salary Increases Become Law. Automatic pay raises without a contract should be illegal. The parents of the students wanting after school programs should pay separately for those programs; otherwise they serve as subsidized baby-sitting. The average teacher salary is above $68,000 per year, plus almost a third more in benefits. Is that what you earn? We Need to Make the School Board Responsible to the Entire Community. Protect Your Home! Stay Out of Tax Prison! Proudly Join the Reform Parade. Don’t Tolerate Tax Waste! Stop the Abuse, by Voting No on Tax Increases.
