Superintendent David Weiss said that early Wednesday morning the district was notified of anti-Semitic remarks and symbols scrolled on the seats of a school bus and immediately contacted the Nassau County Police Department.

"The district is conducting an internal investigation which has already identified one individual responsible for the graffiti and will face appropriate disciplinary action," Weiss said. "The investigation is ongoing. The district does not tolerate such actions and attitudes among our student population. We have a wealth of character education programs in place that promote tolerance of all religions and cultures."

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
