Cops: Cars Scratched, Spray Painted in Nassau

Nassau County Crime Report Part II.

Multiple communities across Nassau County reported damage and vandalism to cars last week, reported Nassau County Police.

Cops received 14 reports of cars being keyed, having tires scratched, or windows smashed between April 10 and 16.

The incidents, taking place predominantly in southern Nassau, were reported in Wantagh, Bethpage, Massapequa, East Meadow, North Merrick, Syosset, Greenvale, Baldwin, Seaford, Bellmore, South Farmingdale, Bayville, and Westbury.

Most reports stated cars were scratched or had windows broken while some involved spray painting and tire slashing.

  • April 10: Willis Court, Wantagh; parked car scratched.
  • April 10: Bethpage DMV; car windshield found smashed.
  • April 10: Michele Terrace, Massapequa; rear window of car smashed.
  • April 11: Lincoln Avenue, East Meadow; car found spray painted.
  • April 11: Chapin Avenue, North Merrick; car's windshield broken on parked car.
  • April 12: Syosset Hospital; car's passenger side window smashed.
  • April 13: Locust Street, Greenvale; passenger side of car found scratched.
  • April 14: Ann Street, Baldwin; car keyed while parked.
  • April 15: Wicks Avenue, Seaford; car's rear window smashed.
  • April 15: Bellmore Avenue, Bellmore; window of car found damaged.
  • April 15: Sunrise Mall, Massapequa; car window found damaged.
  • April 16: Matthew Street, South Farmingdale; car found keyed.
  • April 16: 8th Street, Bayville; car damaged while parked.
  • April 16: Forest Lane, Westbury; car tires found slashed.
