Cops: Nanny Left 3-Year-Old Girl in Locked Car to Steal from Target
Child treated for dehydration after being left in car at Broadway Mall for 26 minutes, cops said.
A Lynbrook woman faces endangerment charges after leaving your three-year-old daughter in a locked car at Broadway Mall, reported Nassau County Police.
Witnesses called the police at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday and said there was a child left unattended in a locked car in the Broadway Mall parking lot, police said.
Second Precinct officers rushed to the lot near Target and reportedly discovered a three-year-old girl strapped into a car seat in the rear of a 2006 Dodge Caravan.

Officers broke into the car just as the child's nanny, Christine Nunes, 37, returned from Target, cops said.
Police discovered Nunes had left the young girl for a total of 26 minutes before police responded.

The child was tacked to a nearby hospital and treated for dehydration before being released to her father, cops said.
Cops later found out that Nunes stole multiple items from the store.
Nunes was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and petit larceny. She will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
