Cops to Boost Patrols Following Kansas Shooting

After a man with reported anti-Semitic ties opened fire outside a Jewish community center in Kansas, Nassau County Police will up their presence in the wake of Passover services.

County Executive Ed Mangano announced that patrols, which were already increased ahead of the holiday, will be further intensified.

Officials said there were no reported threats as of Monday at Nassau County religious establishments for Passover and Easter.

Mangano said the patrols would be boosted in response to a shooting that took place this weekend in Overland Park, Kan. Officials said the shooting was committed by a "founder and former leader of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party," according to CNN. A woman at a Jewish assisted living facility and a young boy and his grandfather were tragically killed in the shooting.
