Dead Body Found in Water Near Lido Beach

Fishermen discovered the body around 11 a.m. Friday.

Fisherman discovered a dead man floating in the waters off Lido Beach Friday, cops said.

According to Fourth Squad detectives, people fishing 1.5 miles south of Lido Beach came across the body floating face down in the water at around 11 a.m.  The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau, Nassau County Police Aviation Unit and United States Coast Guard responded. 

The deceased is identified as a black male, approximately 55-60 years old with average build. He was balding and had gray and black hair. He was wearing a blue pattern buttoned shirt, red plaid pajama pants and black slip-on shoes when he was found.

He was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m., cops said, and the body was taken to the Nassau County Medical Examiner's office.
