A large fishing boat crashed into the dock located at 781 West Park Ave. Tuesday night, Long Beach Police said.
According to a witness, the fishing trawler "Amanda Tara" crashed through and destroyed a large portion of the dock located at New York and West Park Avenue.
Multiple witnesses claimed that the captain of the boat said he "lost steering" near the dock.
The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau and fire department were both notified and that the marine bureau was on the scene around 9:20 p.m., according to Long Beach Police.
No injuries were reported, police said.
A second trawler eventually arrived and helped pull the Amanda Tara away from the dock.
According to BoatInfoWorld.com, the Amanda Tara is more than 71 feet in length and weighs approximately 131 tons. The trawler is owned by Bay Head Inc.
