LBPD: Men Charged During Late Night Fight, Possibly Made Gun Threats

Incident near boardwalk results in three arrests.

Three men face charges after an altercation where they may have threatened to use a gun, according to Long Beach Police.

Officers were clearing the beach of a large crowd at about 11 p.m. Wednesday when they received a call of possible gun shots, cops said. All available officers rushed to Edwards Boulevard near East Broadway and separated a throng of people to interview witnesses, police said.

After an investigation, police determined two men from Freeport and Roosevelt had gotten into a fight and may have threatened to use guns, cops said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Two handguns and a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro were confiscated as evidence.

Cops charged Tylek Allen with criminal possession of a firearm and Kareen Edney with criminal trespassing. Derek Pickney was also charged during the incident with unlawful possession of marijuana.
