According to Long Beach Police Department, Koren Rolon, 48, was issued the summons after police officers responded to a call about a loud party at 225 E. Market St., where in the rear yard they observed apparent alcohol use by minors at about 6:30 p.m. on June 17.

Police said Rolon allowed minors to consume alcoholic beverages on the private property, and summonsed her to appear at Long Beach City Court on July 8.

“It should be noted that the Long Beach Police Department will not tolerate underage drinking in our community,” Lt. Eric Cregeen, LBPD’s public information officer, said in a statement.

Long Beach was the first municipality to pass New York State’s first social host ordinance in 2006, according to the City of Long Beach website. The ordinance refers to any “legal” adult who is “in charge” of the premises, and the penalty for violating it is a fine up to $250 and/or 15 days in jail. An adult in the State of New York refers to anyone older than 16; others fall under the juvenile system.

The LBPD has issued over 40 Social Host Law violation summonses since the program began in 2006, Cregeen said.
