Cute alert. LBFD brought baby herons home after their nest fell from a tree.

Long Beach firefighters made an unusual and adorable rescue of two baby birds Tuesday morning, wrote the department on Facebook.

At 8:36 a.m., firefighters received a special request call to assist Long Beach Police and animal control at the 300 block of East Market Street. A bird's nest had reportedly fallen from a tree containing two baby herons.

A member of Tower Ladder 2372 was carefully raised into the tree where he placed the nest and its occupants back in their home.
