You call Inmates animals when CO's with big EGOS get aggressive with VISITORS? I am an EYE WITNESS to the aggressive behavior that the CO's display. They get aggressive but do nothing when two inmates fight. How did this young man die? where was the intervention. IT IS A CO"S JOB TO INSURE THE SAFETY OF AN INMATE, so yes I think that the CO's are partially responsible if not solely to blame for this young mans death. On the visiting floor the CO's don't watch nothing. They sit and stand in clusters and talk on the visiting floor, so imagine who they are watching inside. I am a civil servant, and a full time psychologist. I am no Idiot. I know that Jail is a violent place to be, it is a completely different community than on the out side world and thus the reason CO's are hired, but where were they when this young man was killed?

Maria, it sounds like you have some experience getting your dignity stripped from you. I'd venture a guess from your post that you have a history of blaming others for your problems and have serious issues when it comes to taking responsibility for your own situation. The CO's can only do so much - at a certain point, the animals have to fend for themselves in the cage. Get your life together, learn to behave like an adult and stop blaming everyone else for things that happen "to" you and "to" others. You, as well as A. Brown, make your own fate in life. He got what he was asking for.

Brendan the only animals at Nassau and any other jail, prison are drug dogs. Just because you go to Jail does not mean you get killed. CO,s are human ummmm ask CO Barber soliciting for smokes. So be careful when you say someones deserves to DIE...

You're making my point for me, Mr. James. Just because you go to prison does NOT mean you get killed. But if what landed you in prison in the first place (a bad attitude, a quick temper, poor impulse control) gets you into further trouble in jail, the inevitable is the inevitable and CO or no CO, eventually everyone arrives at their destination. For proof of what I'm saying, read your own post: not everyone who goes to jail ends up dying. What do you think set A. Brown apart from the crowd?
