A Long Beach man was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Nassau County detectives, Joseph Jordano, 50, of Long Beach, allegedly cashed a forged United States Postal Service money order in the amount of $965 on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the .
Jordano also allegedly attempted to cash other forged U.S.P.S. money orders at that location and at the Atlantic Beach Post Office, police said.
The United States Postal Inspection Service assisted with the investigation.
Jordano is being charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and petit larceny. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
