Two Long Beach youths were charged with robbery for an incident in Baldwin on Wednesday.

Follow Long Beach Patch on Facebook.

According to Nassau County Police Department, a- 17-year-old male was walking northbound on Grand Avenue when two male subjects approached him at about 8:20 p.m. Dec. 11. The subjects demanded his cell phone and he handed it to them. When the subjects walked away the victim followed them, and one of the subject’s produced a black hand gun as he and the other subject entered a silver Hyundai occupied by two male who were waiting for them.

The victim called police and gave a description of the vehicle, and officers from the First Precinct in Baldwin responded to the scene and observed a vehicle that fit the description and stopped it. Police recovered a black pellet gun and the victims’ cell phone.

After an investigation, the officers arrested Markane Dixon, 16, and Ryankane Dixon-Harley, 22, both of Long Beach, and Marcus Reid, 16 and Rahmesh Crosley, 17, both of Baldwin, and charged each suspect with second-degree robbery.

Police said Reid and Dixon-Harley were the two subjects that approached the victim, while Dixon and Rahmesh Crosley were inside the vehicle at the time of the robbery.

The four suspects will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

That is very good advice.

Mr. Kett...why is it the fault of the LBCSD...I thought your parents were supposed to teach you right from wrong!!!!! Did you raise your children or did the school district...I know I raised my own children. Discipline is the job of the parents and if financially they are entitled to free services does that cause them to run amuck......no upbringing does...I do agree the administrators are overpaid-but they have nothing to do with what the state affords these families.
Laura December 13, 2013 at 08:26 AM
So now it's "prejudice" if you speak the truth? Nobody is allowed to know that Markane, Ryankane, Marcus, and Rahmesh are black. That's a secret. Shussssh. It's also prejudice to tell anyone that 82% (according to the USBLS) of all American blacks are given a free cell phone that you are forced to pay for. You pandering fools!
jv December 13, 2013 at 08:50 AM
We gets it for free an u got to pay for it. Sounds good to me. If its free its for me!
Ronnie December 13, 2013 at 11:28 AM
Laura dear, you are prejudiced. You are only disseminating negative propaganda against blacks, which shows bias. Where on the Bureau of Labor Statistics site does it quote that "82% of Blacks receive a free cell phone" you are going have prove that. Then I want you to give me the site for statistics on whites who receive that benefit, Latinos who receive that benefit, Asians who receive that benefit and Native Americans who receive that benefit. Don't twist the truth in your own personal propaganda. We can all see these four children are black, what you can't see is inside their heads and why they did what they did. Please don't believe that Black children are the only one's in Nassau County committing crimes. However, they are the ones that are frequently in reports. You should question that too Laura. Your numbers don't add up and you can check for yourself. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t02.htm

I heard they were robbing people to pay for their accelerated classes at Long Beach High School. Honestly, they are lucky that the victim didn't have a gun and blow their heads off. It's not the school's fault, it's their parents fault for being bums and raising bums.

This message is for Joseph Killard. As an African American that resides in this beautiful city called Long Beach, I am offended because I don't know who these ppl are, but you do. I ask that you control this racism. The Patch isn't a slummy type of site & Long Beach isn't a Slummy city. Crime doesn't happen & it's not just designated by one race. These racist comments are offensive and I ask that you remove them. Thank you inadvance.

Ms. Scott, You should see some of the past posts. There was one a few weeks ago regarding the shooting in North Park. I have never read such hatred in my life. I am glad you wrote.
Paul Massey December 13, 2013 at 02:49 PM
I agree 100% with Mrs. Scott! This hatred on here must stop.

From POLITICO.COM The program began almost three decades ago during the Reagan administration. Officials feared poor customers would struggle to cover higher phone service costs sparked by the breakup of the mammoth Bell System, known as Ma Bell. Lifeline officially became part of the Universal Service Fund in 1996 when Congress passed the Telecommunications Act. But it was under President George W. Bush in 2005 that the FCC started allowing some prepaid wireless providers to participate. This shift sparked tremendous growth.

Here's one for you pandering apologists: 82% of all violent crime against Whites in Nassau is perpetrated by black males. Ooooooh. Not allowed to repeat that either, right? It's racist to print facts that may make someone feel bad, right?
jv December 13, 2013 at 03:57 PM
Ronnie, you said "We can all see these four children are black..." I can't believe you said that! Racist Pig! Why? Because they robbed someone, they are Blacks? Even though you are trying to pander to the politically correct gang, your racism comes out! How can you face yourself? What are you going to tell your children? Daddy is a racist!
Laura December 13, 2013 at 03:58 PM
Haha. Another liberal. Lambchop's sucking them off and you are kissing their asses.

Go to Hell Laura. Mr. Kellard should not be printing your posts here and in other blogs - I am glad Ms. Scott spoke up.
Beachguy December 13, 2013 at 07:17 PM
What does Joseph Kellard got to do with it? The statistics don't lie. Black males are disproportionally involved in violent crime. Both against other races as well as their own. The fact that this phenomenon continues despite all of the opportunities, especially educational ones, that are available is very disheartening. I feel especially sorry for members of the black community that have to live in these conditions.
Ronnie December 13, 2013 at 08:50 PM
jv are you serious? We can see the pictures above of four black teenagers...that's what I alluded to. The obvious pictures of four black kids. So I'm a racist cause I have eyes to see? And I guess that makes me a racist against blacks? Really jv, maybe that monkey is not just an avatar...in that case, I look crazy trying to reason with an animal.
jv December 14, 2013 at 07:59 AM
First, you shouldn't be mentioning race. That's racist. Second, why are you calling a PROUD BLACK MAN a MONKEY??? Third, Joe Kellard should not print any statistics that show anything negative about the Black race! As an AOL employee, Joe should know that Blacks must be depicted in the media only in positions of supervision, authority or wisdom. Otherwise, the People will not accept us as a superior race.
christie nicolle December 14, 2013 at 01:58 PM
why on earth is mr. scott repeating his post 9 times?? Could it be his sense of 'Entitlement' due to Political-Correctness? His vanity is in denial of Truth... + disgusting that Obama has failed to step up to black youth, teach them to follow Booker T. Washington instead of mindless JZ.
Penquin December 14, 2013 at 02:08 PM
Christie - there are issues with the patch the cause comments to post multiple times and sometimes, not at all. No one wants to hear your crap anymore - go write about Southampton, where you live. Tell you what - why don't you post to the Freeport patch along with your full name. You are truly a chickenshit
christie nicolle December 14, 2013 at 02:46 PM
well, lambchop, aren't YOU the transparent "chicken" who cannot go by his name?? And aren't YOU the prototype, No-Class trash this article refers? YES... I grew up in LB + still visit; it saddens me to read my hometown has punks like you.
