Long Beach Woman Charged with Intent to Sell Assorted Drugs

More than $20K in cash seized from Shore Road apartment.

LONG BEACH, NY -- A woman in this New York town was charged with cocaine, marijuana and prescription drug possession with intent to deal the narcotics Thursday evening.

According to Long Beach Police Department, Detective Lt. Stefan Chernaski and other detectives executed a search warrant for the Shore Road apartment of Susan Garcia, a self-employed dog walker and house cleaner, and recovered more than a half-ounce of cocaine, two scales and packaging materials commonly used for drug sales along with drug records at about 11:20 p.m. on May 23. 

Police also recovered more than eight ounces of marijuana packaged in a manner consistent with intent to sell, as well as an assortment of illegally controlled prescription pills. An amount of $20,484 in cash was seized for forfeiture. 

Det. Michael Bulik of the LBPD Narcotics Task Force arrested Garcia at the scene without incident and charged her with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance of a half ounce or more, and third-degree criminal possession of marijuana of more than eight ounces. 
  
Garcia was arraigned at Long Beach City Court on May 24 and released on $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Nassau County Court on June 6.
