The Long Beach Fire Department responded to a call about a vehicle that had flipped at Long Beach Boulevard and East Broadway at 2:30 p.m. May 12. The motorist was a female and her passenger was a male who suffered minor injuries.

“There were two people in the overturned car, they both self-extricated themselves and had minor injuries,” LBFD Commissioner Scott Kemins said.

LBFD ambulances transported both the motorist and passenger of the overturned car to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, where they were listed in stable condition.

Lt. Eric Cregeen, the LBPD’s public information officer, said that prior to the collision, the car that would flip, a 2001 Toyota Suburban, was travelling eastbound on East Broadway and turned left to head northbound on Long Beach Boulevard when it collided with another vehicle, a 2011 Dodge, travelling westbound on East Broadway.

“There was a collision,” Cregeen said. “Both motorists said they had the green light.”
