Police Report: Arrests for Harassment, Grand Theft, DWI

LBPD blotter on Long Beach-related incidents.

The following information was supplied by the Long Beach Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

  • Michael Panagakos, 42, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI at East Broadway and Pacific Boulevard on Oct. 21.
  • Leslie Steingold, 42, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with harassment at Long Beach Road in Island Park on Oct. 22.
  • Dean Blaschuk, 52, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with an active Long Beach City Court arrest warrant and alcohol in public at West Park Avenue on Oct. 22.
  • Anthony Brazill, 48, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with an active Long Beach City Court bench warrant and a Nassau County First District Court warrant at National Boulevard and West Chester Street on Oct. 23.
  • Deidre Salvaggio, 51, of Bellmore was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and resisting arrest at East Broadway on Oct. 24.
  • Sophia Grohs, 20, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with grand larceny at Long Beach Police Department headquarters on Oct. 24.  
  • Jeremy Merchant, 27, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with criminal sale of a narcotic drug and criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell at Center Street on Oct. 22.
  • Peter Monfiletto, 24, of Oceanside was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding at West Park Avenue on Oct. 27.
  • Jose Ponce, 23, of Island Park was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and circumventing an interlock device at Long Beach Boulevard and East Hudson Street on Oct. 27.
