Police: Rockville Centre Woman Drove Drunk With 2-Year-Old Son in Car

A Rockville Centre woman faces a felony DWI charge after police say she was driving drunk Friday afternoon with her 2-year-old son in her car. 

According to police, a witness called police after observing Corina Rusu, 36, driving erratically to the Stop & Shop located on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside.  

Police responded to the supermarket and saw Rusu and her son inside. Police stopped Rusu as she exited the store and after showing signs of intoxication, she was arrested at 4:15 p.m., police said.

Rusu was transported to police headquarters for further testing and the child was picked up from the scene by his father, police said.

Rusu is charged with aggravated DWI, with a child under age 15, in violation of Leandra’s Law and DWI.  She will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
