Shore Rd. Man Jumps Fatally from High-Rise

A distraught man apparently committed suicide when he jumped to his death from a balcony at a high-rise on Shore Road early Sunday morning, according to Long Beach Police Department.

Eric Cregeen, the LBPD public information officer, said the 29-year-old tenant jumped from his fourth-floor balcony at a six-story high-rise at 465 Shore Rd., between Franklin and Lincoln boulevards, at about 6 a.m. Nov. 24, and shortly after police arrived and pronounced him dead at 6:19 a.m. Cregeen told the Long Beach Herald:

“The Nassau County Crime Scene Unit was notified and responded, and the body was removed to medical examiner’s office, where they will be conducting an autopsy.”

Police didn’t disclose the man’s name and the circumstances that led him to his death.
