Teens Charged with Attempted Robbery on Long Beach Bridge

Three juveniles were charged with attempted robbery for an incident on the Long Beach Bridge on Friday.

According to Nassau County Police Department, two 14-year-old males, a 15-year-old male and a fourth male, who is still at large, were riding bicycles southbound on the bridge when they approached a 21-year-old male and forced him to kneel to the ground at about 7:45 p.m. Oct. 26.

The foursome unsuccessfully attempted to take the victims iPhone before fleeing on their bikes northbound on Long Beach Road in Island Park. No injuries are reported.

The three juveniles were arrested without incident and charged with second-degree robbery near 3463 Long Beach Road in Oceanside. They are scheduled to appear in Family Court in Mineola Nov. 8.

Damn right that attempted theft was unsuccessfull.....the robbers were 14 years old! If you're 21 and get robbed by a few 14 year olds on the Long Beach Bridge you should jump off the Long Beach Bridge.

Paul, aren't you concerned that 4 " kids" tried to rob a guy?. I don' t know about you, but I like feeling that my family and I are safe when we are in Long Beach. Those kids could have had a weapon. Happy to hear that the cops got them, and I hope something effects them in a way that they do not continue down that path in life.

I thought they were doing a story on the robbery at the Atlantic Beach Bridge that occurs every hour of the day 365 days a year by the AB Bridge Authority commissioners. By the way are all the commissioners residents of Nassau County?

Jack, have you read about the $18 million Long Beach Boardwalk Operating Authority? It's going to make the AB Bridge look like small change.

Paul-one of the most ignorant comments ever. 14 and 15 year olds can hurt or kill like others. I bet you think you sound tough, but you would have been seriously hurt or killed like any other wanna be tough guy.

These "kids" will amount to exactly zero in life. If society was smart, it would divest itself of them immediately, but we'll just coddle them and let them off the hook with some meaningless punishment instead.

They come from the paddleball courts on stolen bicycles. Missing a bike? Go to the courts by the bridge it is probably there
