3 Million Gallons of Wastewater Spills Into Reynolds Channel

Incident happened Thursday after power outage, according to Nassau DPW.

Three million gallons of wastewater spilled for an hour into Reynolds Channel from the Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant on Thursday after a power outage, according to Nassau County's website.

The two-hour outage occurred around 11 p.m. and “caused grease and sludge to float to the effluent” according to a report from the Nassau Department of Public Works.
