Demolition to Begin on LB School District's Administration Building

Demolition will begin soon on the Long Beach School District's former administration building, located at 235 Lido Blvd. in Lido Beach.

Demolition of the Long Beach School District’s administration building, formerly located at 235 Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach, is scheduled to begin soon.

After damage sustained by Superstorm Sandy, the building was condemned and its former occupants were dispersed throughout the district. On August 26, the Board of Education will continue to finalize plans for a permanent location for the building’s displaced employees.

FEMA awarded the district an alternative procedures reimbursement, which will award 90 percent of the total estimated cost upfront, subject to reductions based on insurance proceeds. The award may be used for alternative means of replacing the building, either on the original site, as an addition or renovation to an existing building, as a smaller building, or as an off-site purchase.
