Live Results: Long Beach Passes Budget

The Long Beach School District budget for the 2014-15 school year passed in a landslide Tuesday, according to the district.

Of 2,390 votes, 1,592 people voted in favor of passing the budget compared to 798 who voted against it. The budget passed with 67 percent of the vote.

The district proposed a $130,040,198 budget for the 2014-15 school year. The proposal calls for a 5.07 percent budget-to-budget increase from last year and a 3.24 percent tax levy increase. Get a rundown of changes in the district's budget pamphlet here.

Voters also passed a non-binding proposition on "whether the Board of Education should exercise its discretion to approve the basic veterans’ property tax exemption," reported the district.

Also, Dennis Ryan and Maureen Vrona were elected to serve on the Board of Education.
