Santa at Karma’s Angel

Santa Claus will appear at Karma’s Angel, a women's boutique at 68 W. Park Ave., on Saturday and Sunday. Owner Julia Lopez-Motherway said about the event: “We'll be setting up our lounge as Santa's workshop, encouraging all to donate unused toys and books to Toys for Tots, and selling hot cocoa, cookies and other goodies.” $5 a photo to offset printing costs; 20 percent off purchases to support Shop Local Saturday. Nov. 30 11 am to 7 pm; Dec. 1 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Menorah Lighting

The first night of Hanukkah starts Wednesday at sundown, at which time BACH Jewish Center of Long Beach will hold a menorah lighting at Kennedy Plaza, located at the front of City Hall.

School Board Work Session

The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a work session at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Long Beach Middle School, 239 Lido Blvd. in Lido Beach.

Farmer’s Market Last Day

The Farmer’s Market at Kennedy Plaza will be open Wednesday for the last day in 2013. Market hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Closed for Thanksgiving

Long Beach City Hall, Recreation Center and Magnolia Senior Center are closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving.  Buses will run on a holiday schedule.
