Astrology makes predictions of future events based on cosmological alignments of both planets andRead More the Sun and Moon in relation to constellations of stars. So what exactly is the difference if not the predictions and labels used? While the ancient writers of scripture surely associated celestial events with real world events by sensing a pattern, without knowing that the pattern is repeated throughout the universe, they could not know that it couldn't be personal. That the eclipse happened while the skies were overcast suggests that if it were a sign, few were able to see it. The logical question is to ask why God wouldn't have ensured there were clear skies so that the sign could be seen. Simply put, if it were in fact a sign, hiding it is counter productive. The significance of the world wars depends on from where and when you look at them. Significant to those who lived it to be sure but to those who came afterwards, perhaps less so. While tragic to those who suffered the effects of the times, the losses were replaced within 3 generations and the memory of those who experienced the times are fading as time moves on. Besides, if another world war is to happen, it, like everything else, must be by design of anything is. I do believe that everything happens because it is supposed to or nothing can, I just don't think it all happens for us as some seem to. My ego is healthy but to assume the entire universe was made for man alone is beyond my hubris.

sounds fascinating -- I heard of John Hagee a minister who wrote a book on the Blood Moons - don'tRead More get it yet, but sounds intense, we just had a lunar eclipse + full moon days ago.

christie I hope you don't think it's significant that the eclipse and the full moon occurred at theRead More same time. That is ALWAYS the case (simple geometry).

We have become a nation tolerating Vulgarity - that's what's most disturbing... millions don't evenRead More watch this trash, yet it's forced on everyone via internet or papers. I'm one of the few people that have had the privilege of knowing the Crystals since the mid fifties.Read More I attended East School with Billy's older brother Rip (Richard). So I guess I've known Billy since he was just Rip's annoying little brother. As I see it, he's the local boy the made good but never forgot his roots. He came forward when Long Beach was really hurting. Not just by lending his celebrity, by making a commercial to promote Long Beach but, also gave his financial support. I don't know of many celebrities that have done the same.

As I stated on another blog yesterday to the best of my knowledge the County invited this group toRead More stage the event at Nassau Beach. The City of Long Beach had minimal involvement. They did not organize or have anything to do with the event. Freeport was all in and was trying to boost business on their Nautical Mile. If the boats traveled east from Nickerson they would have wound up on a sandbar that extends out from Town Park at Point Lookout. The only route for them to take was to travel west, thereby bringing them off Long Beach. If you want to complain, contact Nassau County as they are the sponsors of this event, not the City of Long Beach. Yes, the City did provide access to the water via the Magnolia Boat Ramp, but I doubt they could have stopped the boats from traveling through our waters as they were "offshore". Personally, I have no problem with the vent other than the dangers involved. If the seas had been any higher than the 2-3', it could have had tragic results. The City used minimum resources for this event. There were County Police Boats on the water as well as the Coast Guard, Atlantic Beach Rescue, Town of Hempstead Bay Constables as well as the events own safety crews.
Checks and Balances August 28, 2013 at 09:34 am
Also, worth noting. If the City was involved don't you think the event would have been advertisedRead More better? That was because the City was not the organizer and simply drawn in as the boats passed it's beaches. Yes, the government officials seen observing the even from the Boardwalk were County, not City. That was because the City was not involved nor provide any emergency services.
