Making an Impression
Maestro Anthony LaGruth and the musicians of our Livingston Symphony Orchestra invite you to attend their upcoming concert performance of “Atmospheres” on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 PM at Livingston High School. Works chosen are impressionistic, focusing primarily on mood and emotion rather than form. 
The program includes composer Debussy’s Nocturnes, considered a masterpiece of musical imagery. Joaquin Turina, a spiritual and musical impressionist, creates a passionate, blazing musical statement in Danzas, based on quotes taken from a Spanish novel. Dedicated to cellist Tammy Tobitsch is Gary Pratt’s lyrical Pasture Songs, reorchestrated for strings and clarinet soloist Andrew Lamy, who was Tammy’s longtime friend and current performer with both the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Halcyon Trio. Sixteen-year-old NJ composer Kush Tailor contributes the world premiere of his gentle work “Atmospheres” to round out the evening.
