The West End of Long Beach has been my home since 2008 but I have been visiting family here for almost 30 years. Early on, I realized what a neglected gem this community is and how a little cleaning and polishing could make it sparkle.

Last summer I co-chaired (along with fellow West Ender, Judy Rudnic) West End Beautification Day, Tidy Day and The West End Good Neighbor Award Program.

In October,  West End Beautification Association was incorporated into an independent, not for profit organization dedicated to “improving the aesthetic quality of life in the West End of Long Beach, New York” www.westendbeautification.org.

Before retiring in 2006, I enjoyed a career in magazine publishing and chaired fund-raising fashion shows for my daughters’ school. I belong to the Long Beach Historical Society and love gardening, golf, biking and the Yankees.
