I've been an inveterate reader of all sorts of books from classics to today's novels, biographies and non-fiction for more years than I can remember. For example, in 31 years of commuting on the LIRR to my job at the LIRR, I've read more than 500 books and enjoyed most, although some did put me to sleep (or maybe it was the train ride?) My book critiques have appeared in Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com along with various in-house corporate magazines. As a communications, publications professional with a background in broadcast journalism, I enjoy reading as a recreational break and to expand my work horizon.
I've also been a Long Beach resident for most of my life. I look forward to talking to you about books that I've read in order to provide you with some insights and information on whether it's worth your while to borrow or purchase a particular book. I love the NY Times and Wall Street Journal book reviews. Don't, however, expect similar reviews from "The Constructive Critic" Blog. I'll get to the heart of the matter as quickly as I can, hopefully, in an enjoyable and entertaining way. Please let me know what you think. Comments are appreciated. I'll respond to each one. Looking forward to another reading season.
