Sports Bar Scores Prime L.B. Real Estate

Restaurant to replace former Avenue Cafe at center of town.

Pro football fans should have a new spot in Long Beach to watch the games each Sunday come the start of the season.

The Park Sports Bar & Grill, a 6,500-square-foot restaurant at 20 W. Park Ave., located directly across from the Long Island Rail Road station, is expected to open in September, the Sabre Real Estate Group announced in a press release Monday.

“The site, known for having the longest bar in Long Beach, has 30 private parking spaces with additional parking available on the street and in a nearby municipal lot,” the release reads.

Greg Batista, a director at Sabre who arranged the lease, represented the landlord, RJR Realty Group, and Paul Fetscher of Great American Brokerage, represented the restaurant owner, Sabre said.

Last October Patch reported that the owners of the former restaurant at that location, Avenue Cafe,  unexpectedly closed their doors. The site also once housed two other restaurants, Monterey and Corbin & Reynolds.
