The following is the Long Beach City Council agenda for the March 19, 2013 meeting.

PUBLIC HEARING: For the purpose of providing all persons and representatives of organizations with significant social, economic and environmental interests an adequate opportunity to publicly present their views on and propose activities for the City’s Community Development Program for 2013-2014 (39th year).
                   
1. Resolution Granting Waiver of Off-Street Parking Requirements Re: Premises 951 West Beech Street (street floor), Long Beach, New York.

2. Resolution Granting Waiver of Off-Street Parking Requirements Re: Premises 880 West Beech Street (street floor), Long Beach, New York.
                   
Re: Kitchen and Bath Cabinet Showroom
                   
3. Resolution Authorizing the Filing of an Application with the County of Nassau for the Purpose of Undertaking a Community Development Program, Under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as Amended, and Title II of the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, as Amended, for Inclusion in the City’s Community Development Program for 2013-2014 (39th Year).
                                   
4. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Contract for Street Lighting Maintenance and Repair.
                   
Legislative Memo: Since 1997, Welsbach Electric Corp. has successfully bid and provided this service to the City.
                   
5. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement for Engineering Services in Conjunction with the Reconstruction of the Indiana Pump Station.
                   
Legislative Memo: This pump station has been inoperable since Superstorm Sandy due to damages sustained. Funding is being requested through public assistance grant monies from FEMA.
                   
6. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Contract for Masonry Restoration Work for the Exterior of City Hall with the Lowest Responsible Bidder.
                   
Legislative Memo: These repairs will take care of issues with the parapets around the entire building as well as the demolition and reconstruction of the cooling tower.
                   
7. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Contract for the Rental of Portable Restroom Trailers for the Ocean Beach Park with the Lowest Responsible Vendor.
                   
Legislative Memo: As a result of Superstorm Sandy, all of the public restrooms at the Ocean Beach Park were destroyed. The City needs to supply portable public restrooms for this summer season. Funding is being requested through public assistance grant monies from FEMA.
                   
8. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Amend the Current Agreement with Coastal Planning and Engineering to Assist the City with the Recovery from Damages Related to Hurricane Sandy.
                   
Legislative Memo: Coastal Planning and Engineering has worked successfully with the City since 2008 and the City desires to amend our current agreement in order to expedite engineering services that are essential to our recovery. Funding is being requested through public assistance grant monies from FEMA.
