As prepared as the Allegria was, Hurricane Sandy caused millions of dollars of
destruction to the luxury hotel on National Boulevard. The lobby, first floor and
garage are destroyed and there is damage to some of the guests’ rooms.
“The most important thing was the safety of our guests and employees and we did a pretty good job with that,” said General Manager Nasser Samman. “Now the top priority is clearing the water out and see what we want to do for the future.”
Samman noted that the Allegria is here to stay.
