State Sending Financial Service Reps to Long Beach

DFS representatives will also be available to assist with insurance-related issues stemming from damage caused by Sandy.


Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is deploying representatives of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) to locations in Nassau county this week to help homeowners and business owners affected by Superstorm Sandy apply for recovery aid that was approved by the federal government last week. 

The Department’s representatives will be available to meet with residents inside the agency's Mobile Command Center, which will be stationed at these locations:

Brach's Five Towns
11 Lawrence Lane
Lawrence, NY

"Governor Cuomo has announced that an initial $1.7 billion will be made available to distribute grants to single & multi-family homes to assist with reconstruction, rehabilitation, future damage, & mitigation. Businesses will be eligible to receive assistance in the form of grants, loans and other services as well. Those who have already signed up for the RecreateNY pre-application should be receiving letters informing them to fill out the full program application, which can be completed either at the Disaster Recovery Center at the Ice Arena or online.
