Cops: Child Caught in Boat Propeller

A child was caught in a boat propeller in the Five Towns Friday afternoon, according to Nassau County Police.

Officers confirmed that a child at Cedarhurst Yacht Club had gotten caught in the propellers of a boat in the water.

Police, Coast Guard, marine, and aviation units rushed to the scene after the call was received at 2:23 p.m. Friday, cops said.

Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department was joined by Long Beach in the rescue, according to Long Beach Fire Commissioner Scott Kemins.

The child's current status has not yet been confirmed by police. Officers did not say how the child got caught in the blades.
