According to Fourth Squad detectives, a 73-year-old male victim was returning home around 8 p.m. March 9 when he opened his garage door and exited his vehicle. Two unknown male subjects wearing dark colored masks —  one armed with a handgun —  forced the victim inside his home. Once inside, one subject forced the male victim to walk from room to room demanding money and property, police reported. Another subject found the 72-year-old wife in the master bedroom and also demanded money and property.

According to police, after obtaining cash and assorted jewelry, the subjects tied both victims’ hands behind their back, placed them in the master bedroom and fled the Lakeview Drive residence in an unknown direction.

The couple was able to call 911 after the subjects fled the home. There were no reported injuries or further description of the subjects.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
