Nearby: Man Charge with Stealing $1,100 Watch
Police say Javier Rio took timepiece from car parked in Woodmere driveway.
Story by Stephen J. Bronner
Police arrested a Cedarhurst man last week for stealing a $1,100 watch from a car parked in a Woodmere driveway in July.
Javier Rios, 21, was charged with four-degree grand larceny on March 14 and was arraigned last Friday, Nassau County Police Department said.
According to police, on July 16, 2012, at 11:45 p.m., Rios entered a 2006 Nissan parked in a driveway on Elm Street and took a stainless steel Sub 300T watch. He sold the watch to a second-hand dealer in Inwood, who sold it to another dealer, police said.
The victim found his watch on eBay and notified police. Detectives were able to track the watch to Manhattan, where it was recovered.
