Five Vacancies in Long Beach

Eleven months after Hurricane Sandy, a number of vacant storefronts and commercial buildings remain in Long Beach, adding to those that existed prior to the storm. Here are five vacancies in different parts of the city:

  • 639 E. Park Ave. - The former Kings Pharmacy East suddenly closed its doors this summer, leaving a large vacancy among the strip of stores on East Park’s 600 block.

  • 143 E. Park Ave. - Star Nails closed its doors and Shuckman Realty is looking to lease the unit.
  • 805 W. Beech St. - A real estate office was proposed for the former Barking Beauties shop in the West End, according to a Long Beach City Council agenda in May. For rent signs remain in the front window.
  • 251 W. Park Ave - Kev’s Caribbean Kitchen was knocked out during Hurricane Sandy and Prudential Douglas Elliman seeks to rent the empty unit.
  • 868 W. Beech St. - The Long Beach Library’s former West End Branch has remained vacant after it was closed in 2007.
