Police Seek Shore Road Burglar

Long Beach police are searching for a man who they say burglarized an apartment building on Shore Road sometime this month.

Follow Long Beach Patch on Facebook.

The subject is described as a white male in his late 40s or 50s, with black hair, a heavy build, a potbelly and a large nose.

“This is a person of interest in recent burglaries,” reads a wanted flier the Long Beach Police Department has posted on buildings along Shore Road, according to residents who spoke with Patch.

But the wanted poster suggests that just one burglary occurred, at an apartment building at the 600 block of Shore Road in March. The exact date of the incident and the address of the building weren’t released.

“This is a very active investigation and at this juncture I can’t release any more information,” Lt. Eric Cregeen, a police spokesman, told Patch on Monday.

The flier features five surveillance video stills of the alleged subject inside the building. “The video was obtained from a surveillance camera in the lobby of the building,” Cregeen noted.

Police encourage anyone who recognizes this subject to call the LBPD’s confidential tip line at 516-705-7370.

“If you see this subject, immediately contact the Police Department and provide location, clothing description and vehicle description if possible,” the poster states.
